The Amia Chair by Steelcase combines sophistication and engineering in a streamlined, minimalist design, reimagined by Chairorama. Steelcase's patented LiveLumbar system provides dynamic, consistent lower lumbar support with hidden flexors in the backrest, without visible controls.
The arms adjust in four dimensions (4D) for ergonomic performance and an adaptable seating edge. These features create a chair that fits executive offices, conference rooms, and home workspaces. The chair supports up to 400 lbs, is BIFMA Level 3 certified, and comes with a 12-year warranty.

The synchronization tilt adjustment allows you to customize how far or how quickly
the chair tilts back. With clearly labeled manual controls, you can set
tilt tension, recline angle, and enable upright-back locking

A 3-inch seat depth adjustment (15.5 to 18.5 in / 17.5 cm) along with enhanced
leg support options accommodates users of varying heights. The
adjustable seat height (16–21 in / 20–135 cm) supports individuals from

pneumatic height-adjustment mechanism.
LiveLumbar support technology adapts naturally to the user’s spine shape
without the need for visible adjustments. With dual side handles, it’s easy to
fine-tune the lumbar height based on personal comfort and available workspace.
The flex seat adjusts to the user’s weight and posture, whether reclined
or seated for extended periods, helping reduce pressure on the legs. Its flexible design
allows users to transition smoothly between various sitting positions—such as
perching, side-sitting, or crossing their legs—while maintaining consistent comfort.

Received chair with inadequate packing protection (just a chair in a box within a plastic bag), so it came with a wheel broken off in a way that a simple wheel replacement would not fix, and was dirty and clearly hadn’t been cleaned. When I wrote in to customer service (after trying every phone number and menu option that all lead to dead ends), they responded that they’d give me a replacement wheel and $20…..for a $400 chair I’d already explained couldn’t be fixed. After reiterating multiple times and receiving the same offer to send a new wheel in response, they finally sent a return label. I then had to lug the 50lb box to UPS to avoid incurring more fees scheduling a pickup, and still have not received confirmation that I’ll be fully refunded upon the return. Truly terrible experience.
Great Chair: Fantastic office chair. Great support in every direction. Easily adjustable in every needed dimension. I use it in my home office and it is more supportive (particularly w/r/t back support) and more comfortable than the Herman Miller chair in my office downtown.
No more hip pain! : The chair was easy to assemble and setup in a comfortable way. I work from home, so spend all day on this chair and it hasn't disappointed. Prior to the Steelcase, I was suffering from hip pain and after a week of using this chair, the hip pain was gone. It's very comfortable, and I can adjust on the fly to make sure I'm using different positioning. Great chair for the price!
The pain went away when I switched to the Leap chair and was able to adjust the height and horizontal position of the arm rests.  If you spend long hours at a desk and particularly if your using a. computer for long periods, the adjustability and overall comfort makes it worthwhile.
This chair is very comfortable, it rolls easily and appears to be sturdily made. The armrests are adjustable and the seat fits both those who prefer a narrower seat and those who like a roomy seat. The chair has a lot of adjustments which can make it a good ergonomic choice for companies which want to focus on ergonomic safety.
Great buy: Excellent,confortable, an elegant chair. It was easy to assemble and it blends with my office furniture. I would hightly recomend it to anyone who is looking to buy a home or an office chair.
Awesome cheaper version of Leap: I bought the Leap for my dad before, and the Amia is nearly the same. Great ergonomic features and it just feels nice to sit in. Better than the chair I have in my office, too
I needed a chair for my 80 year old dad so that his legs and back didn't hurt when he was on the computer for even short periods of time. Saw a sale from Chair-o-Rama and decided to take a chance. Very glad I did! After not getting any updates for a while, I initiated a contact through their website and someone called me back within a few minutes. That's my only criticism - that communication wasn't quite as good as expected, but the end result was stellar - dad LOVES his chair and I know it will last years and years and not start sagging here or there like a chair that might cost the same from Staples or any office supply store. I know he'll have the same back and leg support from day one to day one thousand. Thanks again, Chair-o-Rama!
Absolutely the best computer chair. Beautiful, functional and comfortable chair. This chair has a side-actuated gas cylinder to raise and lower the chair, so it must be positioned exactly right. It works smoothly and is adjustable in every position. Great buy!!
